FUNdamentals for Citizen Planners I

FUNdamentals for Citizen Planners I is a virtual training designed for onyone interested in the planning process, and esepcially for elected officials, Plan Commission members, and Board of Zoning Appeals (BZA) members (or those thinking of serving in such roles.)

The course, presented by American Planning Association Indiana Chapter, provides a strong foundation in planning and zoning principles, legal requirements, and decision-making processes that are essential for effective local governance. Cost is $100.

Day 2: August 11, 2026 | 1:00–4:30 PM

Findings and Criteria
Pressures
Public Meetings and Hearings
Ethics

Participants will gain practical knowledge and tools to help navigate land use decisions, understand the role of planning and zoning regulations, and serve their communities with confidence.

Please note: This training will be held virtually and will not be recorded. Participants are encouraged to attend both sessions live to receive the full benefit of the program.
